Ambulance Care Assistant
Ambulance Care Assistants (ACA) drive patients to and from their hospital appointments and, when required, help patients settle back home following appointments.
Typical duties of the role include:
Collecting and transferring patients from home to hospital appointments.
Helping/Lifting patients that are not able to make their own way to the ambulance.
Transporting safely and being punctual for all non- emergency appointments.
Support/help patients to settle back at home after appointments
Driving in a B Class vehicle essential, C Class vehicle an advantage.
Keeping Journey records updated and accurate.
ACA may deal with elderly people, people with a physical disability or mental health problems. An ACA may also need to transport people who are seriously ill with specific medical needs.
Qualifications and training required
As an ACA you will need a FREC 3 or First Aid at Work Certificate, if you already these this will be an advantage however training can be provided
Minimum requirements for this role
Hold a current DBS.
Over 21-years of age.
Hold a full current driving licence for not less than 1 year, allowing up to a maximum of 6 points.

Good communication skills
Ability to reassure anxious or worried patients in a warm, welcoming, and friendly nature.
Good level of Fitness.
Works well as part of a team
Full Training and uniform will be provided
